What is Qvalio?

Qvalio is a web-based tool for the evaluation and validation of higher education courses. It aims to improve the quality of higher education courses by ensuring that they are designed in a holistic way, considering different aspects and perspectives.

Qvalio consists of 114 statements in 14 different categories. The statements are divided among four different roles: administrator, teacher, student, and stakeholder. These roles complement each other and provide a more objective view of the course being validated.

The Qvalio statements are formulated with reference to several documents and recommendations at EU level. The references used can be found from here.

How to use Qvalio?

If you want to validate a course, first add it to the Qvalio website by entering its name and the country of your institution. You will receive a course specific identification code that you must save to access the course page again later. By sharing the code, you can also invite other people to validate your course.

Once you have added your course to the site, you can access the form page and the report page. You can make new entries, edit old entries, and view the results of the validation. You can also print the results or save them on your computer.

The site administrators at the University of Turku store information in accordance with the privacy notice. If you wish, you can also use a pseudonym when filling in the form. We recommend that you avoid writing information that is irrelevant for using Qvalio, from which you can be identified. By adding the course to the Qvalio website and using the validation tool, you agree to the privacy policy stated in the privacy notice.
